I thoroughly recommend this amazing group called kiva.org which offers small, micro finance, development loans to those in need around the world. Right now i'm helping a Samoan farmer called Faaui Tua build a sustainable market garden for his family and village.
I think this initiative, like those of Muhammad Yunus' Grameen Bank, in Bangladesh, are extraordinary, a model for all of us.
